Why not visit the Balearic Islands & enjoy a diving holiday in picturesque surroundings, temperatures ranging from the 20's in April & October & rising to the high 30's in summer, making the water temperature more compatible with your bath. Interested? read on...

Combine that sort of climate & water temperature with spectacular diving (& viz!), superb European food (mostly with a Spanish flavor), good local wines & a magnificently unique harbour & marina & you could only be in one of a handful of excellent Mediterranean venues. This time, its's Addaia, North Menorca off the east coast of Spain.

Smaller sister to the popular & commercialized Mallorca, just 20 miles or so south west is unspoilt Menorca. Here you'll find one of the best diving areas in southern Europe. Although only half size of Mallorca, it boasts more than 100 pretty bays around its 200 km of extremely diveable coastline, many of these bays are only accessible by boat. With a population of around 70.000 the island is still relatively untouched by tourism, with only a few whitewashed villas perched precariously on the rocky peninsulas.

Beyond Menorcas 220 km of rugged coastline lies an immense variety of underwater habitats, each providing differing shelters, feeding and breeding grounds for a myriad of species. There are numerous sheltered coves where the sea bed is of fine white sand giving the waters their magnificent turquoise colour, the shallow warm waters provide a home for the stingrays that come to breed every spring. It is generally believed that the most spectacular and rewarding diving is to be found on the incomparable north east coast, where a coastline of immense natural beauty provides some of the best diving in the western Mediterranean.

Addaia is a unique place on the north coast of Menorca, 20 km north of the main town, Mahón with secrets & a history guarded by nature. Addaia is famous for it's natural & unspoilt harbour which is 3km in length & in in whose interior are two deserted islands. In Roman times, this narrow bay was a busy trading base as can be seen from numerous amphoras excavated from its seabed from ancient shipwrecks.

Within minutes of leaving the Port Addaia is the answer to every divers dream. Menorcas north coast is diversively rugged & uneven, generously affording numerous vertical drop offs, coral encrusted reefs, caves, & caverns with an abundant array of marine life & with lots own natural beauty. All of this in warm crystal clear clear waters with 30m of visability. To protect & preserve all of this wonderful nature & to make it last forever Menorca has become an International UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
